Maureen “Moe” Anne Collins Cicero of Davie, Florida passed away in Lake Wales, Florida on July 25, 2022 after a short illness at the age of 83. Maureen was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Cicero. She is survived by her son, Raymond, and his wife, Lisa, and her grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary and John, along with her sister, Sheila Gerhard, and many nieces and nephews.
Maureen was born on December 9, 1938 to James and Kathrine Collins in Staten Island, New York. She graduated from Curtis High School in 1956, where she was Captain of the Cheerleading Squad. In 1960, Maureen wed FDNY Firefighter Raymond J. Cicero, going on to have one child, Raymond.
Upon her husband’s retirement, they moved to Davie, Florida, where Maureen opened a gift shop/postal station in Davie. After several years in the retail industry, she obtained a position as an Administrative Assistant at Nova University where she worked for 25 years. During her tenure at the university, she obtained both her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees.
Maureen particularly enjoyed cooking and going to the casino with her husband to play the slot machines. She was a kind, generous and gentle soul. She loved spending time with her family, and she always made her home warm and open to family, friends and visitors.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church at 1301 S.W. 130th Avenue in Davie on Saturday, August 20th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at the Cicero (Ray/Lisa) residence. All are welcome to attend.
