Mercedes Pita

Mercedes Pita, born on April 10, 1932, in Cuba, passed away peacefully in Weston, Florida, on January 26, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other family members.

Mercedes dedicated her professional life to the field of accounting, becoming a Certified Public Accountant. She moved to Florida in June 1965 where she worked diligently to provide for her children. Her career was marked by her unwavering commitment to excellence and integrity, traits that earned her the respect of her peers and clients alike.

An alumna of the University of Havana, Mercedes possessed a deep appreciation for education and lifelong learning; a trait she passed on to her children. Her vibrant personality was reflected in her love for colorful things, bringing joy to those around her. A woman of strong faith, she cherished her Catholic beliefs and found comfort in frequently praying the Rosary.

The community is invited to remember and celebrate Mercedes’s life at a Mass scheduled for January 29, 2025, beginning at 9:30 AM at Saint Bonaventure Catholic Church, located at 1301 SW 136th Ave, Davie, FL 33325. Following the Mass, family and friends will gather to honor her memory at Our Lady Of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Doral, FL, starting at 12:00 PM.

Mercedes Pita leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
