Michael Bower, Sr.

Michael Bower, Sr.  of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away with his family by his side.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.  He was the eldest of three sons, being born in St. Augustine, Florida to Robert Shadle Bower and Marie Ethel Canova.  He was a proud 12th generation Floridian. Michael attended Holy Family Catholic School in North Miami from grade school through junior high. He then attended Arch Bishop Curley High School in Miami where he graduated in 1962. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from St Thomas University in Miami.  He married Gloria Volpe in April 1964. He practiced in his own accounting firm for over 40 years. He was a Certified Public Accountant and had worked as a government auditor, as well as an independent elevator contractor in Florida. He enjoyed his retirement with his family, friends and dog (Portia aka; Poochie). One of his favorite things to do was to meet his friends for breakfast at the Blue Moon Diner. He was also very active at the gym and loved walking his dog. He is survived by his youngest brother Roy Bower (Andy); three children Michael Jr (Tere), Monica and Natalie (Patrick); five grandchildren Susana, Alex, Kaylee, Alyssa and Ava. Michael was loved and will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.

Family and Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, September 16th, 2018 from 3:00-5:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held Sunday Afternoon at 4:00 PM.
