Mildred Ann Petrillo passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, at the age of 88, in her home in Davie, Florida. Millie was born in Rochester, New York, on November 14, 1936.
As the gates opened for her on November 30th, she was immediately welcomed by her husband, Joseph Petrillo, her sister, Elsie Ardillo, and her brother, Sam Ardillo, who had already crossed over. Millie was the eldest of three siblings: Elsie, Sam, and Eleanor.
On November 26, 1956, Millie married the love of her life, Joseph Petrillo in St. Patrick’s Church in Rochester, New York. They later welcomed four children: Joseph Petrillo, Christine Petrillo, Anthony Petrillo, and Gina Petrillo.
Although she loved the title of mother, she loved even more the title of grandma. Her greatest joys in life were her five grandchildren: Lauryn, Briana, Gabriela, Anthony, and Nicholas. The matriarch of the Petrillo family, Millie was not only an incredible mother and grandmother, but she was also an incredible cook. Sundays at the Petrillo household were filled with laughs and love. Anyone who truly knew her could picture her with her headset on, listening to sports while making meal after meal for the family. From Sunday sauce to pizza fritte, Millie could cook just about anything. And when she wasn’t in the kitchen or tending to her grandchildren, Millie would often be found watching Sportscenter making sure she was up to date with her favorite team, the Miami Dolphins.
Millie is survived by her sister Eleanor, her four children, five grandchildren, and her four great-grandchildren, Zoey, Isla, Olivia, and Caden. During the last remaining years of Millie’s life, her daughter Christine became her main caregiver, and her grandson, Nicholas was Christine’s right-hand man in helping her with anything she needed. In the days leading up to her death, Millie was surrounded by family. Services will be held at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home on December 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
