Nancy Lee Davis, 91, of Lauderhill, FL, formerly of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Cumming, GA, passed away on March 14, 2022 at home with family at her side.

Nancy was born June 26, 1930 to Ruth and Douglas Sharpe in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from Shaker Heights (Ohio) High School, Nancy married Roger Davis in 1950 and they spent 72 loving years together raising two children and pursuing various interests, hobbies and traveling extensively.

Nancy was a creative person who loved to work with her hands. She sewed most of her own clothes, knitted, quilted and did elaborate counted cross stitch patterns that were proudly displayed in her home.   During one period she made artistic lampshades with intricate designs cut by hand into the outer layer of paper.

Most impressive was her stained-glass work — she shaped lead and glass into planters, terrariums and eye-catching window hangings.

During retirement Nancy spent years creating her masterpiece, a massive dollhouse furnished with miniature furniture she made by hand. She turned cardboard and cereal boxes into bricks and siding, colored paper into a variety of flowering plants. The distinguishing feature was a stained-glass solarium on the side of the dollhouse.

Throughout her life, Nancy was passionate about baking and gardening. She made delicious breads, cookies, cakes and pies that made your mouth water. In Georgia, Nancy’s garden was a showpiece of color in the spring. In the summer, she and Roger raised juicy tomatoes that they canned or gave to friends and neighbors.

After their daughter Jill died young, Nancy and Roger spent many years as foster parents, caring for a progression of infants prior to adoption.

Nancy is survived by loving husband Roger; son Craig and his wife Fran of Plantation, FL; granddaughter Allison Posada, her husband Chris and their twin sons Dante and Owen of Pembroke Pines, FL; grandson Glenn Davis and his wife Lara of Orlando, FL.
