Orlando O' Donahue Malcolm

September 24, 1961 — July 8, 2020

Orlando O’ Donahue Malcolm was born on the 24th of September, 1961, to his parents, Verley and Daphne Malcolm (nee Isaacs).

He grew up as a loving and respectful child.  He attended Sunday School at the Methodist Church in Ocho Rios, and his school teacher would always share how wonderful he was. His mother has always known Orlando was very special.

His youth times were a great joy to him and all of us. Orlando, being the respectful child, always offered his seat to women on the buses in New York. Though most of the times, a courteous “thank you” was not exchanged when his offer was taken, it still did not stop him from doing what was proper.  Orlando once had a stranger in disbelief, as she watched him doing the laundry for his younger brothers and sisters.   As a young adult, he gained employment early, beginning with a newspaper route, then delivering pizza, and finally in construction.

After his college graduation, he made a career in construction, which sadly ended when he couldn’t continue his career due to illness.

Orlando emigrated to New York when he was 11 years old. Though living in Florida, up to his last days, he never forgot his Jamaican roots.  Whenever someone spoke to him from Jamaica; Orlando was able to place them and have them get in touch with his mom or other family members to reunite.

He is survived by his mother, Daphne; sisters, Greta (Edwin), Alana, Marcia (Dr. Paul), Karen, Josean (Clarence); brothers, Verley, Vincent, Rohan, Andrae; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends from Jamaica WI, Canada, California, Florida, Georgia, New York, Kansas City, Maryland and Virginia.

His loving family and his devoted friends, will treasure his memories and dearly miss him.

JOHN 16:22

And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you...
