Patricia "Pat" Roberson

Patricia “Pat” Roberson--daughter, mother, friend, church leader, banker and community member, passed away on March 20, 2025. Born in October 1935, Pat was committed to her children, her career and her chosen communities throughout her life.

Pat was the adopted daughter of Bill and Grace Lacher. She grew up in Coldwater, Michigan, and moved with her parents at the start of high school to Salem, Indiana. Pat joined Beta Sigma Phi in which she was an active member throughout her life. She met Trent Roberson in Salem, married and had three children: Elise Harding, Margie Roberson and Bill Roberson. Her mother died in 1964, and Pat grieved this loss the rest of her life. Pat and her family moved to Florida in 1970. Her father moved with her, and she cared for him until his death. After her divorce from Trent, Pat and the kids moved to the French Quarter condominium community, where she made friends and enjoyed entertaining.

Pat worked as a banker for many years and earned a reputation for her personal approach to helping her customers. She was especially proud to earn her bachelor’s degree from Barry University. Pat enjoyed her community involvement with the Plantation Chamber of Commerce, was a president of the Plantation Kiwanis, a member of the Broward Professional Women (to name a few!) where she made lasting relationships and served others. Wherever she went, Pat got involved and carried this enthusiasm into her retirement, becoming a member at Plantation Presbyterian Church, where she served as deacon and elder. It was always important to her that people felt welcomed and seen.

Pat's ultimate passion was cooking and entertaining others. She continued this pursuit into her 80s. She lost many beloved friends over the past nine years and the pandemic further confined her at home. She was always grateful for the ways her friends remembered her--through phone calls, visits and cards. Pat was devoted to remembering others and making them feel special.

Pat will be fondly remembered by her friends and fellow community members. She is survived by her children, her grandsons, Stephen and William Harding, her niece, Mary Yates, her cousins Norma Honza and Penny Green, as well as her friends and former customers. She “made it through the rain” and “kissed the joy as it flies.” May her memory be a blessing.
