In Loving Memory of Patrick Bryan McGowan

February 15, 1984 - December 23, 2024

Our beloved son, Patrick Bryan McGowan, age 40, passed away peacefully at his residence in Davie, FL, on December 23, 2024, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. Despite his pain, he always worked hard and faced each day with remarkable strength and determination. He was known for his kind heart and unwavering resilience. He touched the lives of many with his generosity.

Born on February 15, 1984, in Long Beach, CA, Bryan, as his family called him, was a highly active child, quite intelligent, and athletically gifted. He enjoyed playing team sports such as soccer, flag football, and baseball while growing up in Mission Viejo, CA. He continued with these activities and added competitive tennis to his sports resume after moving to Florida. Bryan also enjoyed the benefits of his parents’ careers in the travel industry, which allowed him to explore numerous destinations with them.

As a young adult, Bryan enrolled in the culinary program at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where he developed a steadfast passion for cooking. This marked the beginning of his lifelong journey in the culinary world. His enthusiasm in the kitchen earned him the lively nickname “Hurricane Pat.” Besides his love for the culinary arts, Bryan was also passionate about music—creating lyrics and beats, as well as enjoying detective shows, the beach, and living life to its fullest.

He is survived by his loving family: his dedicated mother, Michelle Waite, and his stepfather, Mark Waite, of Davie, FL; his siblings, Mark Spencer Waite (Sara Waite) of Davie, FL, and Margaret Waite of Cottage Grove, OR; his father, Terry McGowan, of Ventura, CA, and Durango, CO; and his maternal grandmother, Barbara Alvarez, of Ontario, CA. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard D. Alvarez, Sr., of Ontario, CA; his paternal grandparents, Paul and Arline McGowan, of Daytona Beach, FL; and his step-grandparents, Thomas and Edith Waite, of Fullerton, CA. He is also survived by a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was a loyal friend too, whose memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

A private viewing will be held for the immediate family only, followed by cremation, which will be directed under the compassionate services provided by T.M. Ralph Funeral Homes of Plantation, FL, 954-587-6888 www.tmralph.com.

Rest in peace, Bry Bry. Fly high, my angel, and do not mess up that kitchen!
