Born in 43 Village, Berbice, Guyana on January 11, 1944, he spent his last three decades of life as a Florida resident. Paul had a fire within him, and a pioneering spirit with a magnanimous presence for life. A seeker of adventure, Paul lived his life by his own rules and displayed perseverance and enthusiasm throughout, dedication for his family duties with unwavering support from the love of his life, Lela, who departed this earth 11 days earlier. From an early age, Paul displayed a force to be reckoned with and remained as such throughout his life. His love of learning, bravery, and courage was exuded throughout his various careers as a school teacher, policeman, US Army soldier, mechanic, entrepreneur, security guard, and healthcare maintenance technician. Paul’s contributions in his career changed numerous lives. Always a trailblazer, he spent his formative and early adult years in 43 Village, Berbice and Coven John, Guyana, Ontario Canada, and his middle adult years in New York and Louisiana, with his final adult years in Florida. He married the love of his life Lela (Lochnie) with three daughters in their family. He and Lela had two more daughters and raised a blended family. He is survived by daughters Ena Bell, Ina Wiehl, Nandranie Busjit Bhalai (Garnet), Amanda Bailey (Stacy), and 10 grandchildren: Allison Ann Bell, Jeana Wiehl Bond (West), Andrew Beharry, Ashley Rodgers (Henry), Lauren Bhalai, Christopher Bhalai, Madison Bailey, Bradley Bhalai, Ian Bhalai and Abigail Bailey in addition to 2 great grandchildren, Michael Picozzi and Stella Marie Henry He is survived by several siblings: Lulan Busgeeth, Paul G. Busgeeth, Khemraj Busgeeth, Roopnarine Busgeeth, and Deomattie Busgeeth, and a great many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Lochnie “Lela” Mangar Busjit, daughter, Rona Beharry, his parents, Sonnie and Gangadiah Busgeeth; siblings Charlotte Kerrodar, David Busgeeth, and Chatterpaul Busgeeth. Paul lived his life with determination, curiosity, and resilience giving much to whom and what he loved. His spark and zest in living forged with his indomitable spirit propelled him through many joyous and challenging experiences. He will be greatly missed and forever cherished by all who knew him and loved him.
