Paul D DuRivage

June 10, 1932 — May 29, 2020

DuRIVAGE, Sr. Paul Dennis, age 87, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020.   He was predeceased  by his parents Joseph Alfred DuRivage and Marie Rose (nee Fournier), his siblings Ghislaine Brogan, Claudette Merly, Gilbert, Guy and George Henry “Hank” DuRivage, and his youngest son Paul DuRivage, Jr.,  He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lillian DuRivage; children:  Mark DuRivage of Tacoma, WA, Phyllis Kochiss of Stratford, CT and Joseph DuRivage of Milford, CT; stepchildren:  Cindy and Raymond Dillon, Danny and Viki Cook; his sisters Rose Horgan and Sally Szuskawicz .  Paul also leaves behind his grandchildren : Jillian, Alexandra, Paul III, Kevin, Stephanie, Joseph, Emily, Thomas, and Hannah and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul was born in North Troy, VT and lived on a farm with his parents and seven siblings.  As a young man he served in the Army as a Drill Instructor, joined the Bridgeport Fire Department and became a decorated fire fighter.  As a master carpenter he created a thriving business in home remodeling.  Upon retirement, he moved to Ft. Lauderdale with his beautiful wife in 1983.  He continued doing home remodeling and put his skills to good use in his beloved summer swiss chalet home on Beech Mountain, North Carolina.  His favorite outdoor activities were hiking, camping, and skiing with his family, and indoors, he was a dedicated Jeopardy fan and avid reader. Through the years Paul and his wife traveled the world. In his memory donations may be made to a Veterans charity in his honor.
