Although Pete was a true “Burdiner” it was the people of Burdines that made his professional and personal life complete.
Looking back 23 years, March 15th, Pete had his first open heart surgery, a very complicated open-heart surgery. It happened to be simultaneous to receiving the very prestigious Don Erbb Award for recognition as the employee of the year at Burdines. The rest is history, as Pete’s willingness to live life to the fullest, always looking forward the next big event of his children and grandchildren. Dad was the exception, his positive outlook on life and his love for his family allowed him to cherish every minute.
