With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Harrilal Ramnarine Seepersad who departed this world peacefully on August 1, 2024. He was born on January 24, 1938, in Barrackpore, Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies, to Seepersad Byragie and Doolarie Seepersad.

As the eldest of eight siblings, Harrilal was a nurturing support for his siblings: Leela, Maltie, Indra, Chandreka, Mayalal, Gumtie, and Chandra, ensuring they could pursue their education and dreams. He was deeply involved in the lives of his own children: Randy, Susan, Ravi, and Dave whom he raised with his devoted wife, Tara Seepersad. Together, they built a family grounded in values, love, respect, and the joy of shared experiences. Harrilal was a proud grandfather to Michael, Aaron, Steffi, Maya, and Milan.

He dedicated 36 years of his life inspiring countless students as a teacher of history, math, art, and geography at Rio Claro Secondary School and San Fernando Government Secondary school. His passion for teaching was matched by his love for art and fishing. Known for his witty sense of humor and his love of travel, he even hiked the mountains of Scotland at the age of 80, showcasing his attention to health and adventurous spirit.

His life was marked by his progressive and caring nature, always willing to help others advance with a calm selfless warmth. He believed deeply in the importance of both family and environment in shaping a person’s life which he personified through his actions, building a home with a view and devoting countless hours to his children and grandchildren.

Harrilal’s legacy is one of unwavering dedication to family and community. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and his teachings and actions will continue to influence and inspire those who knew him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal love of God and those who cherished him.
