Raymond Joseph Cicero

May 29, 1933 — January 17, 2020

Raymond J. Cicero, Sr., 86, of Davie, FL passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2020.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Maureen; his son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Lisa, and three grandsons, Nicky, Zack, and John of Davie, FL; a brother, Robert Cicero, of Glendale, California; and several nieces and nephews.  Raymond attended St. Peter’s Boys High School and Wagner College on Staten Island, New York.  He served in the U.S. Army in Germany as a part of the Allied Occupation following World War II.  Upon his return to the U.S., he served with the New York City Police Department for two years.  After a long two years with the police department, Raymond found his true calling and transferred to the New York City Fire Department, where he served on Engine 32 in Lower Manhattan.  He finally retired from Engine 152 in Rosebank, Staten Island, in 1978.  Raymond loved spending time with his family, particularly with his three grandsons, who he cherished.  When he was not with his family, he was sure to be found playing the slot machines at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino.  He is best known for telling animated stories about the time he served in the Army and his fellow firefighters in New York City.  A mass will be held at noon on Saturday, February 1st at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Davie, FL.  Cremation arrangements by T.
