Regis Cassidy, a devoted family man and master electrician, passed away on September 2, 2024, at the Catholic Hospice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Born on September 9, 1932, in Pitcarin, Pennsylvania, Regis lived a life filled with hard work, dedication, and love for his family.
Proudly serving in the US Military, Regis exemplified a spirit of service that extended into his career as a master electrician. He was an esteemed member of the IBEW 728 Electrical Workers Union, earning the respect of his colleagues and the community alike. Regis' expertise and commitment to his craft brought light into many homes and workplaces, a fitting tribute to a man who illuminated the lives of everyone around him.
Regis leaves behind his cherished family, who were his greatest joys and accomplishments. He is survived by his beloved children: Tim Cassidy, Diane White, Debra Wilson, Steve Cassidy, and Kevin Cassidy. His legacy continues through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values of kindness and resilience that he instilled in them. He is also remembered by his brothers, Bob and Richard, and his sisters, Carol and Kathleen, who share in the memories of their beloved brother.
The celebration of Regis' life will take place on September 6, 2024. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Fort Lauderdale at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery in North Lauderdale at 1:00 PM. The day will conclude with a Celebration of Life at the Fort Lauderdale Firefighters Benevolent Association at 2:00 PM, where all are welcome to gather, share stories, and honor the memory of a remarkable man.
Regis Cassidy's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering support. He will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he blessed. As we gather to bid farewell, we celebrate the countless memories and the enduring spirit of this exceptional man who gave so much to his family and community.
