Richard A. Lollman, lovingly known as Dick, passed away on November 10, 2023, in Plantation, Florida. Born on June 30, 1949, in Norwich, NY, to parents Richard E. (Now Deceased) & Dolores Lollman, Current resident of Summerfield, Florida. Dick’s life was marked by dedication to his career, his hobbies and the love he shared with his family and friends.
Dick’s life’s passion, dedication and love of music was evident at an early age. His instrument, the guitar, would prove and provide immeasurable joy to him and many others throughout the decades. Dick graduated from Norwich in 1968 was a member of the Bossmen, who in 1966 won the Battle of the Bands in upstate NY. This accomplishment and the accompanying pressed 45 record was one of Dick’s greatest joys.
If you knew Dick, you knew he was a mild-mannered man, with pleasant disposition, who always met others and life in general with a smile. After High School, Dick began his career with Norwich Pharmaceuticals. His career early on would be put on hold when his country called. Dick would answer that call, serving his country honorably in Vietnam, in the Army’s 23rd Infantry, Americal Division.
Upon returning to civilian life, Dick's duties would turn from military to civilian when he would become a father to his son, Matthew Lollman (Ardmore, Ok). As Dick focused on life and his career at the Pharmacy, he would continue to pursue his passion in music with the band Collage.
As fate would have it, while working at the Pharmacy he would be reintroduced to someone he remembered from many years ago. A young lady Cynthia Shaheen (Daughter of James & Mary Shaheen both now deceased), who he used to see at Shaheen’s Market. Little did he know that little shy girl from his past, who used to sit with her Uncle Lou, would soon become the love of his life. Dick would go on to marry Cynthia, July 19th, 1980, and this year celebrated 43 years with his love and best friend.
They soon would move to the small village of Sherburne, NY as their family would expand. In their home they were blessed with two sons of their own, Kristopher Lollman (Plantation, FL) & Jayson Lollman (Plantation, FL). Dick would continue to be a dedicated, faithful father and dutiful husband for many decades. He and his family were friends to many and would enjoy faith and fellowship at St. Malachy’s.
Dick dedicated 45 years of his life to the pharmaceutical industry where he had gained the respect of his fellow employees for his years of selfless dedication to his union trade. Soon after retirement, Dick & his wife Cynthia would close their chapter and move to Florida. This move would allow them to be closer to family and enjoy these last few years.
Dick is survived by his wife Cynthia Lollman; Son Matthew (Julie) Lollman of Ardmore, Ok; Son’s Kristopher & Jayson Lollman of Plantation, FL; Mother Dolores Lollman Verhoeven of Summerfield, FL; Sister Patricia & (Gary) Brookins of Norwich, NY; Grandsons Ethan & Samuel Lollman of Ardmore, OK; Brother-in-Law Michael Shaheen of Endicott, NY; Niece Stephanie (Tim) Paden of Oxford, NY.
