Robert E. Elmore Jr., known to many as "Bob," passed away surrounded by his family on October 14, 2023, in Margate, Florida. He was born on February 10, 1951, in Jasper, Alabama. to Ida Marie and Robert E. Elmore Sr. He grew up in Elkhart, Indiana with his three siblings Barbara, Marlin “Leon” and Katherine “Kitty”.
Bob dedicated his career to public service and retired from the City of Lauderhill, Florida as a fire inspector. His commitment to ensuring the safety of the community was unwavering, and he made significant contributions during his tenure.
In addition to his career, Bob served honorably in the United States Army. His military service exemplified his sense of duty and love for his country.
Outside of work, family meant everything to Bob, his love for them was unconditional. Bob was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Elynn Rissinger of Coconut Creek, Florida. His former wife, Dora Elmore of Coral Springs and their 4 devoted daughters - Nohemi "Mimi" Mocny of Coconut Creek, Florida; Robin Taylor of Boca Raton, Florida; Rebecca "Becky" Cuevas of Coral Springs, Florida; and Erica Elmore of Coconut Creek, Florida. Also his daughter Jenna Gotlieb of Palm Coast and her son, Dominic. His grandchildren, Jacob, Charlie, Peter, Marlina, Brody. And many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and relatives around the world. He cherished their presence in his life and leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
Bob's kind-hearted nature and fun loving personality endeared him to many people throughout his life. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and valued. Whether he was sharing a laugh with family or friends or lending a helping hand, Bob touched the lives of those around him in meaningful ways.
A visitation will be held on October 26 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home Sawgrass/Weston in Sunrise, Florida. Following that at the same location will be a memorial service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The final service, a graveside ceremony, will take place at South Florida VA National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida, on October 26 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
His memory will continue to inspire and remind us of the importance of compassion and dedication. May he rest in peace, knowing that his presence in our lives will never be forgotten.
