Roberta Paula Thompson

Roberta (Bobbie) passed away on February 10th 2021 at home peacefully after a brief stay in hospice care.

She celebrated her 84th birthday two days before she passed. We said "Dad came to get her so they could spend Valentine's Day together"; he was such a romantic.

Roberta was a Plantation resident for nearly 30 years after her and Tom retired from the Bronx, NY in 1991.  Both in NY and in Florida, Roberta was an active member in her community. Roberta was very involved with the Girl Scout's in NY, her church parishes and she was a pillar of their communities.

Her devotion to numerous nonprofits such as being team captain for Relay for Life, holding multiple positions at the “Columbiettes”, member of “Counsel of Catholic Women” and a honorary member of “Telephone Pioneers of America”. Volunteering was something she found very rewarding, whether it was doing “Tender Touch” at Broward General Hospital NICU Unit, being an usher at the Broward Performance Center, or helping out at All Saints Catholic Church annual carnivals, dances and fundraisers.

Roberta was preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas, of 61 years, in 2020.

She leaves behind her Daughters Lynne Thompson,  Barbara Thompson and her partner Beth, Patricia (nee Thompson) LaPadula and her husband Anthony,  Grandchildren Nicholas LaPadula and his wife Victoria, Alyssa (nee LaPadula) Rodriquez and her husband Leo, her brother in law George Thompson and his wife Isabelle and loving nephews, nieces and cousins.
