Roberto Henriquez born in Mayaguez, PR on May 14th, 1935 to parents Monserrate Olmeda and Alejandro Henriquez. He was a loving brother to Lillian Eneida Colon, Lourdes Mendez, Ivan Pesante, and Waldemar Pesante. He is survived today by his wife of 62 years, Belen Henriquez; daughters, Marilyn Martinez, Irma Neves, Sandra Calabro, and Melinda Arce; son, Robert Henriquez Jr.; son-in-laws, Jose Martinez, Euripedes Neves, Gary Calabro, and Jose Arce; daughter-in-law, Monica Henriquez; grandchildren, Kristie Zapata, Gary Calabro, Brandon Calabro, Ericka Calabro, Rick Arce, Christian Arce, Matthew Henriquez, and Melanie Henriquez. His family moved to Manhattan, NY in the 1950’s where he went to school to become a Dental Lab Technician. During his time in school, he worked in the Molla furniture factory to support his family. During his time in New York he met the love of his life Belen Colon. Belen and Roberto were married June 18th, 1955. While living in New York he had 5 children before relocating to Carolina, PR around 1968. He began working for Eastern Airlines for Ramp Services until 1983. The family lived in Puerto Rico for 10 years in Villa Fontana. His second oldest daughter was accepted into College in Florida and the family moved again in 1978 to Hollywood, FL. Roberto began with American Airlines in 1984 continuing to work with Ramp Services. He eventually retired 15 years later. His life as a grandparent began with the arrival of his first grandchild in 1985, and subsequently was blessed with 7 additional grandchildren. Roberto and Belen were residents in both Puerto Rico and South Florida as they frequented each for months at a time. Throughout his life he traveled with his wife and family around the world, building friendships at every stop. Roberto had a love for sports, movies, music, and anything having to with culture and live entertainment. He shared his love of food, sweets specifically, by constantly entertaining family and friends. He was a generous man who cared deeply for his family and those he took in as family. He is cherished by all, and will be missed by those who were touched by his kindness and loving nature. Visitation will be held at T.M. Ralph Sunrise Funeral Home, 371 NW 136th Avenue, Sunrise, FL 33325, on Friday March 16, 2018, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. A mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 10900 W. Oakland Park Blvd. Sunrise, FL 33351, on Saturday March 17, 2018, at 9:30 AM, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn South, 2401 Southwest 64 Avenue (Davie Road) Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33317.
