Rodney Keith Carey was born on May 5, 1951 in Miami, Florida to Paul and Thelma Carey. He was the second child of this union.
After graduating from Miami Edison High School, Keith joined the United States Marine Corps in 1971. He specialized and worked on jet engines while in the service. He gave six years in the corp. He was stationed at Parris Island, South Carolina.
Keith was born a member of Saint Mary’s Wesleyan Methodist Church in Miami and a member of his family church in Key West Florida, Trinity Methodist Church. He spent many summers with his great-great grandfather Reverend George W. Allen of Key West, Florida.
After severing six years in the military, Keith worked as a security guard at Motorola, Wells Fargo, and many other companies. Most recently before he retired, he worked at Securitas.
Keith enjoyed traveling to visit his family and was an avid movie watcher. Most importantly, he was truly passionate about his military service.
On December 3, 2024, Keith was called to his eternal home. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his two brothers Paul V. Carey Jr., Brian Kevin Carey; one brother who predeceased him Gary M. Carey; one sister Glendina Cartwright; one daughter Nicole P. Carey; four nieces Dietra Cartwright, Amy Lilly, Tasha Carey and Briana Carey; six nephews Brian K. Carey Jr., Michael T. Carey, Charvis L. Carey, Paul V. Carey III, Gary M. Carey Jr., Shannon Carey, and many cousins, loved ones, and friends.
