Ronald Tallmadge, 91, of Plantation, Florida, passed away October 26, 2020. Born to Donald H. Tallmadge and Mildred M. Wuest, in Brooklyn, New York. The family moved to Miami, Florida in 1941 and graduated from Miami High School in 1946. Ronald joined the United States Air Force in 1947, ranked Staff Sargent, and fought in the Korean War. After the Air Force, Ronald built a long career with the FAA and retired after 31 years. Ronald was a Mason since 1981. He is survived by two daughters, Kimberley (Steve) Mussnug and Karla (Chris) Carlson; sister, Gloria Townsend (William, deceased); brothers, Doug (Sharon, deceased) and Ken (Peggy) Tallmadge; six grandchildren, Jennifer Miner, Brian Mussnug, Brittany Carlson, Ariana Mussnug, Cody Mussnug, Jacob Mussnug; three great-grandchildren, Cardel Miner, Hunter Miner and Avarie Miner; and many nieces and nephews. Ronald’s daughter, Karen Leigh Tallmadge preceded him in death in 1957, at the young age of 11 months. Visitation will be Friday from 11:30-1:00 PM at the T.M. Ralph Funeral Home 371 NW 136 Avenue Sunrise, FL 33325. A Funeral Service will be led by his Masonic Brothers at 1:00PM. Right Worshipful Ronald Lee Tallmadge Masonic History Right Worshipful Ronald Lee Tallmadge was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Mason on June 22, 1981 in Westgate Lodge No 332, Passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on November 23, 1981 and Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on June 15, 1982. Our Brother progressed through the chairs at Westgate Lodge and was installed as Worshipful Master 1n 1987. He went on to serve as Treasurer from 1992 to 1994 and finally as Secretary of Westgate Lodge in 1994. While in Westgate Lodge, R\W\ Brother Ron became a Perpetual Member. Westgate Lodge merged with Seminole Lodge No 304 in 1994 and R\W\ Ron immediately took on an active part of the lodge. He served as Treasurer in 1998 through 2007, was an active Catechism Instructor, Degree Instructor and Lodge Mentor. When Seminole Lodge merged with Doric Lodge No 140 in 2007, R\W\ Tallmadge remained a very active member as a Lodge Mentor and in degree instruction. Right Worshipful Ron was appointed District Deputy Grand Master in 1989/90 and served as Grand Marshal to the Grand Master of Florida in 1995/96. Our Brother was also the Grand Representative to Japan appointed in 1996. R\W\ Ron served on many Grand Lodge Committees over his career: Youth Activities Committee 1987, Masonic Education Committee 1988, Will & Gifts: Zone Chairman 1990/ 1991, and 1993, Let Your Pennies Make Good Cents: District Chairman in 1991, member of the Board of Trusties of the Masonic Home 1994, Finance and Accounts Committee 1997 to 2003. Illustrious Ron Tallmadge joined the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Miami in the Spring of 1983. He was honored with the title of Knight Commander Court of Honor 1991 he received the honorary 33rd and final degree in Masonry in 1999. Ill Ron was the head of all four bodies of the Scottish Rite, a perpetual member and head of the Reunion Sound Committee for many years. Ill Ron was also a member of the Royal Order of Scotland. Noble Ron Tallmadge became a member of the Mahi Shrine in 1983. He went on to serve on the Directors Staff, Past Master Club and as a long time Road Runner he made numerous trips to the Tampa Shrine Hospital taking our local children for treatment. He was also a member of Ft Lauderdale, Hollywood and Broward Shrine Clubs. A life member of the Fort Lauderdale York Rite, Sir Knight Ron worked his way through the chairs and became Eminent Commander of Melita Commandery No. 35, Knights Templar. A member of Everglades York Rite College No.149, he held the title in the east of Governor and was a recipient of The Order of the Purple Cross of York, the highest honor that the college can bestow upon a member. As a member of the Feramo Grotto he served as Monarch and as a long-time treasurer. He was also a Senior DeMolay and received the very prestigious and high honor of Chevalier in 1995 which he was most proud of. Right Worshipful Brother Ronald Lee Tallmadge laid down the working tools of the craft and sought admission to the Celestial Lodge on October 26, 2020. Due to the difficulty of these times, community and cemetery guidelines restrict the number of people that can attend in person. We thank you for your love, support and understanding.
