Salvatore “Sal” Sulsenti, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. He was born in Vittoria, Sicily. Sal was a friend to everyone he met and his family was his world. He enjoyed woodworking and loved to build things for his grandchildren. He was self-taught in many areas but excelled in engineering and history. Many times you could find him tinkering in the garage, helping neighbors, barbecuing and starting projects. What he loved most, was spending his days in Franklin, NC riding his Kubota tractor and ending the day making s’mores with his grandchildren. Sal is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rosemarie; mother, Vita Sulsenti of Davie, FL; children Sally (Tony) Abbondanzio of Raleigh, NC and Christopher (Denise) Sulsenti of Weston, FL; grandchildren Katrina (Travis) Edwards of Raleigh, NC, Nicholas (Emmie) Abbondanzio of Raleigh, NC, Nicole Sulsenti of Weston, FL, Gina Sulsenti of Weston, FL, Natalie Abbondanzio of Raleigh, NC, and Aryah Dunlap of Weston, FL; great-grandchildren Elise Edwards of Raleigh, NC and eagerly expecting the arrival of Leonardo Salvatore Abbondanzio of Raleigh, NC; brother Rosario (Grace) Sulsenti; and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Cesare Sulsenti. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 PM at the T.M. Ralph Funeral Home 371 NW 136 Avenue, Sunrise, FL 33325. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 12 noon, St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1301 SW 136 Avenue, Davie, FL 33325. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
