Sherry Snow, 69 years of age, died peacefully at home with her husband of 43 years and daughter by her side on February 20, 2020.
Sherry was a loyal friend and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed making people laugh and was a fantastic listener; many people considered her a trusted confident. In recent years she, and her husband “Butchie,” as she called him, enjoyed sitting out on the back deck, watching the hummingbirds and feeding the blue jays while listening to the wind chimes.
From a daughter's perspective, my mom was the strongest women I have ever met. She met life with tenacity and was a fierce Momma Bear, as I would sometimes call her. There are so many stories--like the time she stood up to my 2nd grade teacher because she said I asked too many questions. My mom told the teacher she was raising a young women to stand up for what she believes even if it is against someone in authority, of course with “southern” politeness.
She will be remembered lovingly by her husband Russell Snow, her daughter Dusty Snow, her sister Bambi Gallagher, her brother Tom Gallagher, and her wonderful friends whom she loved deeply.
One of the best lessons my mother taught was accepting every human being as the same as yourself and not judging them--to treat everyone with kindness. Thank you, mom.
