Simone Burns

Simone Burns of Plantation, Fl., passed away on March 2, 2023 at the age of 98 while in HOSPICE care. She was born in Paris, France on October 6, 1924 to Joseph R. and Anne (Pistien) Baudry. She married the late David Burns (2007). Her daughter, Josette Burns of Plantation, survives her. Simone was the loving sister of Suzanne, Henri, Amie, Anne, Angle, and Claudine (all deceased). She is predeceased by her dear in-laws Isador, Mimi (Harold) and Esther (Irving). Many family and friends in Florida, New York and France will miss Simone. Simone loved Paris where she grew up, as a young adult during the German occupation she aided the French Resistance. Paris is also where she met David and were wed on May 11, 1946. At the end of the war they returned to New York to begin their new life together. In 1962 they welcomed their daughter into the family. In 1973 they moved to Plantation to start a new chapter. Simone worked in numerous jobs with computer data for Travelers Insurance, Northeastern Airlines, Bunning the Florist and Dale Allen Men’s Clothing. She was very involved with all of her daughter’s sports activities, never missing a game. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 8th from 3:30 to 5:00pm at T.M.
