Steve Shortall, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on March 30, 2023, at the age of 62 in his home after a short illness. He was born on February 24, 1961, in Miami, FL to Robert and Helen Shortall. His parents and his brother John preceded him in death. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Judi, and his two children, Chase and Sterling. He was a devoted husband and father who cherished his family above all else. Throughout his life, Steve was dedicated to giving back to his community. He volunteered his time to charitable organizations that were close to his heart: the Dan Marino Foundation, the Dellenbach Foundation, the YMCA, and March of Dimes. He was also a coach for Weston Warriors football and other Flag Football leagues. He touched many lives through his selfless acts of kindness and generosity. Steve was known for his infectious smile and positive attitude. He had a zest for life that was contagious, and he brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Steve attended Catholic school throughout his childhood where he was an altar boy. He went to St. Barts and Chaminade High School, graduating with the class of 1979. Steve began his career at American Express in 1979, where he worked for an incredible 42 years. He met his wife, Judi at Amex as well as lifelong friends. He was a dedicated and hardworking employee who always went above and beyond for his colleagues and the organization. His commitment to excellence and his unwavering work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of everyone he worked with. Steve was a very loyal and lifelong Miami Dolphins fan, a 25+ year season ticket holder. Steve Shortall’s Memorial Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Sunrise, Florida at 10am on Saturday, April 15th.
