In Fond Remembrance of Therese Duffy Rau, a Beloved Past Resident of Weston, Florida
Born on August 13, 1926, she graced this world with her presence for a remarkable 97 years, peacefully passing into eternal rest on the serene day of October 14, 2023.
Therese was a beacon of love, embodying the roles of a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a doting grandmother, and a cherished great-grandmother. Her love and kindness knew no bounds, touching the hearts of many who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a profound legacy of love and family.
Her legacy endures through her loving daughter, Cynthia Rau Shobe (married to Curtis), stood as a testament to her mother's nurturing spirit, alongside her two sons, Steven and Robert. Therese reveled in the joys of family, basking in the love of her grandchildren: Chad (Shantal) Shobe, Cyle (Kori) Shobe, Sean and Thomas(Macie) Rau, Siana and Sara Rau. Yet, her greatest delight was found in the laughter and innocence of her great-grandchildren: Luke and Vera Shobe, Callie Shobe, and the eagerly awaited Baby Rau.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she exemplified compassion by generously supporting numerous charitable organizations. She shared her blessings with others, finding profound joy in making a positive difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
Therese's zest for life knew no bounds. She explored the world alongside her beloved husband, Bob, embarking on over 50 memorable cruises. Music was her soul's nourishment, and the joy she felt in the presence of live music was immeasurable. She hosted memorable gatherings and parties, where the laughter of family and friends filled the air. The allure of the casino, the excitement of playing the slot machines, and her fondness for shopping and savoring Flanigan ribs were among her many passions.
In our hearts, Therese will forever reside, a cherished memory we will celebrate always. Her absence leaves a void that will be felt deeply, yet her enduring legacy of love and unforgettable moments will carry on through the lives of her beloved family and friends. The tapestry of cherished memories she leaves behind shall forever weave the fabric of our lives, a tribute to a life lived with boundless love and grace.
