Thomas (“Buddy”) McDonald Bost, III, 79, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, passed away October 13, 2021. He was born February 3, 1942, in Radford, Virginia, son of the late Honora Elizabeth Desmond Bost and Thomas McDonald Bost, Jr.

He married Sandra Webb, the love of his life, in 1966, who survives him. Tom is also survived by daughter Tiffany Hladek and husband Brian, daughter Kimberly Bost, as well as grandsons Zachary, Colin, and Jacob Hladek; and many nieces, nephew, and cousins.

Tom grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia, attended Holy Cross Academy, graduated from E.C. Glass High School, pursued engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and served his country in the United States Marine Corps - Semper Fi.

He was passionate about all things aviation since he was a young boy, building model airplanes for over 70 years, and obtaining his pilot’s license before his driving permit. Following his active duty in the Marines, Tom worked at Cardinal Air in Lynchburg before he and his bride settled down to start a family in the Bluefields (Virginia & West Virginia) where he flew for Rish Equipment and Bluefield Supply Company for many years. He finished his formal flying career as a 727 Captain for United Parcel Service (UPS). In 2019, Tom and Sandra relocated to South Florida to make memories in the sunshine with their grandsons.

Tom was at his happiest making others laugh and enjoying time with family and friends, tinkering in his model shop, flying the skies, reading tales of historical fiction, savoring some Jimmy Buffet, and cheering on his beloved Hokies.

The family will receive friends & family with full masking and Covid-19 precautions, Wednesday, October 20th, from 10 AM - 12 PM, at T. M.
