Thomas E. Coll, 81, of Deerfield Beach, passed away on March 31, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 1, 1941, to Earl and Alice Coll, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The family moved from Pennsylvania to Miami in 1953, where his father, Earl, worked on the television production of “The Jackie Gleason Show”. Upon Thomas’ graduation, he served honorably and faithfully for the United States Army.
Like his father, Thomas made his career in stage and film production working on thousands of commercials, stage shows, television and films, including such well-known properties as, Miami Vice, Flipper, Caddyshack and Porky’s. He joined the local chapters of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Union (the IATSE Local 477 for screen and 500 for stage) and served for a number of years as the Local 500 Business Representative.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Linda Coll and their two children, Brian Coll and Heather Coll; siblings, Marlene Neff, Earleen Virga, and Judith Muir; brothers-in-law, Herbert Neff, Joseph Muir, and Virgil Virga; and 12 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, James Patrick “Pat” Coll.
Visitation will be Sunday, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM and 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, 11:00 AM, St. Coleman Catholic Church, Pompano Beach. Interment following in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
