Sclafani passed away peacefully in Houston, TX on December 30, 2021 at the age of 73 after a courageous fight with MDS. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Thomas was a proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame (1970) and Brooklyn Law School (1976). He served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in New York and Florida before establishing his private practice in Fort Lauderdale. He was appointed Chief of the Narcotics section of the U.S. Attorney’s office in the Southern District of Florida. He is survived by his Son, Damian Sclafani (Klodiana); his Daughter, Danielle Sclafani (Antonio); his two Grandchildren; his Mother, Helen Sclafani; his Sister, Carol Madison (Gary); his Life Partner, Michele Brooks; and many other Family Members and Friends. He was predeceased by his Father, Damian Sclafani. Thomas, a devout Catholic, served his parish of St. Gregory the Great in Plantation, FL over the years leading the Usher's Ministry for over 15 years, he started the Youth Ministry program in 1999 and was the Teen Lector Ministry leader since its inception in 1999 until his passing. Thomas will always be loved and remembered for his loving, generous heart. When Thomas learned there was someone in need, he never hesitated to go into action and do everything he could to help. He had an infectious positive disposition that lifted the spirits of everyone around him. Generous with his talents, heart and time, he will be remembered most for his loving devotion to his family and friends. Friends will be received at the T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home 7001 NW 4 Street from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday January 15, 2022. A prayer service will be held at 6pm. The prayer service will be held Friday evening and will be available by streaming on this site. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 9:30 AM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church 200 N. University Drive Plantation, FL Entombment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Flowers are welcomed or for those who may donations may be made to the MDS Foundation. Eulogy
