It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ursula Anselm.
Ursula Anselm was born on September 8, 1962 in Roseau, Dominica @ Princess Margaret Hospital to Nathlie Jean-Jacques and Rafeal Anselm.
Ursula Anselm is survived by son Perry Tyrone Payne (Marjorie) Siblings: Brother Cuthbert Alcid, Sisters: Lauren Wilkinson, Annette Brathwaite and Merina Shillingford. Ursula was preceded in death by Sister Havis Charles who passed away September 14, 2019. Nieces and Nephews: Jefferson Augustus, Dione Augustus, Cuthbert Alcid Jr, Shanella Prosper, Bronson Prosper, Hakeem Dalrymple, Dealon Darylmple, Dean Dalrymple, Kareem Darylmple, Serena Darylmple. Grandnieces and Grandnephews: Jefferson Jr, Reon, Rian, Ketara, O’della, Gertila, Briella. Ursula is also survived by an endless number of cousins and friends as well as extended families: Anselm family of Fond St. Jean, Jean-Jacques family of Roseau and Riviere family of Loubiere.
Ursula attended school at St Martin School. While in Dominica Ursula worked as a messenger for DBMC for a number of years. She also enjoyed playing basketball and netball and was even a member of the Dominica National Netball Team. One of Ursula’s favorite pastime was watching football with her favorite team being Kensbrough United. Another one of Ursula’s favorite things to do was spending her free time talking to her friends including but not limited to: Marcella, Joana and Br Jermain In an effort to be able to provide for her son and her family Ursula moved to the United States in 1997 and resided in Miami, Florida.
Upon arriving to the US Ursula worked as a home health aide providing loving and compassionate care to her patients where she even developed long standing friendships with their families. Ursula was a dedicated mother, sister, aunt and friend to so many although Ursula was not able to travel back to Dominica often she made sure to keep her family and friends close whether it was a letter or countless calls. Ursula truly will be missed by all those she has left behind.
