To view the memorial service, please click on link below Memorial Service for Waldemar Krahn Waldemar Krahn, former resident of Maywood, New Jersey, and St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away, peacefully, on September 14, 2022, at his home in Plantation, Florida. He was 93. Waldemar is survived by his loving wife, Olga, whom he married in 1951. They immigrated to the United States in 1958, first settling in Union City, New Jersey. Waldemar learned the trade of barbering, and through hard work became the owner of his own successful barber shop at the Bergen Mall in Paramus, New Jersey. His claim to fame came when Bruce Springsteen, “The Boss”, came in after hours one night for a quick haircut. It was only after a phone call home with his oldest son, did Waldemar learn what a famous client he had sitting in his shop. Another of Waldemar’s clients, a local radio reporter, learned of Sprinsteen’s visit and interviewed Waldemar on air. His family, friends and clientele all appreciated Waldemar’s professionalism, courteous demeanor and his wonderful sense of humor. Waldemar was the beloved father of six sons. He is survived by Gerhard, Horst, Bernhard and Walter; predeceased by Harry and Herbert. He was a brother to sisters, Wanda and Erna, and predeceased to brothers, Erich and Helmut. A loving Opa, Waldemar is survived by eight grandchildren, Matthew, Michelle, Jennifer, Dayna, Daniel, Lindsay, Julie and Teila, as well as six great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Ryan, Aurora, August, Mackenzie and Charlotte. Waldemar lived a long and full-filled life surrounded by family whom he loved, supported and nurtured. He and Olga worked hard for their family and showed by example their strong family values. Waldemar will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. Services are being planned for Friday September 30 at the T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 4:00 PM until 4:30 PM.
