It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wanda June Wiranis announces her passing on July 2, 2018. As a professional piano teacher for over 40 years, her legacy extends beyond the love of music she imbued. She was a leader in the Broward County Music Teachers Association, an active member of the United Methodist Church of Plantation and a long-standing member of the Plantation Historical Society. She won “Woman of the Year” for the Plantation Woman’s Club, her work informed by her time in her sorority, Delta Zeta, and her previous involvement with the USO. She will be forever loved and remembered by her daughters Belinda Walters and Lori Capo, her son-in-law Michael Capo, her sister Scharon Ellis and her two granddaughters, Brittany and Kaitlyn. A celebration of Wanda’s life will be held on Sunday at 4:00 PM at the T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home.Friends will be received from 3:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Louisville Memorial Gardens, Louisville, KY. in lieu of flowers donations in memory of Wanda may be made to Plantation Historical Society.
