William “Bill” Hansen
September 6, 1929 – February 8, 2025
Plantation
William “Bill” Hansen of Plantation, Florida passed on February 8, 2025. Born Sept. 6, 1929 in NJ, he served in the Navy aboard three different ships during the Korean War. He saw action throughout the Pacific and was honorably discharged with two Battle Stars and four distinguished service medals.
Following his service to our country, Bill moved to Florida, and he has lived in his current home in Plantation since 1963.
He eventually retired after working for 28 years for Sears as one of the greatest appliance repair men who ever lived. In fact, if it was electrical or mechanical, he could fix just about everything.
When he wasn’t working or taking care of his family, he was an avid fisherman and boating enthusiast.
He is survived by Joan, his beloved wife, 4 daughters, 7 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Bill’s boat has now moved on to where the line never tangles, the bait is always fresh and the sea is always calm.
His family invites you to attend a memorial service to celebrate Bill’s remarkable life on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, located at 7001 NW 4th St., Plantation, FL 33317. Friends will visit from 1:30 - 3:30PM, Funeral service will be at 2:30PM.
