William Ronald “Bill” Stupka, of Plantation Florida, died after a short illness on Saturday May 22, 2021 at Sunrise Rehabilitation Center. He was 88 years young. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Charlotte (Pechman), two daughters Nancy Miller and Connie Sokolowski (Ric) and grandchildren Melanie Sokolowski and Andrew (Drew) Miller. Bill grew up in Berwyn, Illinois and was the son of Otto and Mae Stupka. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was passionate about his military unit and stayed in contact with those gentlemen until shortly before he passed. After his discharge from the Navy in 1956, Bill joined Motorola Inc. in Illinois. His career spanned for more than 40 years in the Chicago-area and ultimately in Plantation Florida, in the early 70’s, where he was National Service Technical Training Manager. Bill enjoyed photography, traveling, astronomy, bird watching and biking. He road 5-7 miles a day until just before his illness. Bill always had some sort of a project going, whether he was designing and building a security system for his home, a weather station or researching his family tree. He was an avid reader and had a thirst for knowledge and learning. He will be deeply missed. A private celebration of life will be held at a future date.
